DUE WEEK 2
- Assignments must be submitted on Brightspace. One submission and one grading per assignment. Emailed, text messaged, or paper submissions will not be accepted, graded, or considered as on time. Access “Brightspace Help” if you require assistance submitting assignments on Brightspace. Check out Assignment 1 Grading Rubric before submitting.
- Check your course syllabus available on Brightspace for due date – late entries will lose 1 of 100 points for each day submitted after the due date.
- Click on the “Assignment 1” link found on the Brightspace navigation bar. Click on the “Start New Thread” link found near the bottom of the page in the Assignment 1 link and follow the directions below. A grading rubric link is available for guidance.
- Include your first name and last name in the subject line of your new thread. (10 of 100)
- Choose three words from this list of traits that best describes you. You may use other words/traits not included on this list. (15 of 100)
- Define each word/trait (15 of 100)
- After each definition, provide specific examples to support why each of these words best describes you. You must provide a specific example for each to receive full credit. Examples should refer to a specific event, place, and time period. A general description without specific details will not receive full credit. View Example Assignment for clarification. You may also make an appointment with the tutoring center for support. A link to tutoring services is available on the blue navigation bar on Brightspace and on the Resources page. (60 of 100)
- Click “Post” to submit.
After submitting on Brightspace, read through a few other posts. Commenting on other posts is optional.
DUE WEEK 10
Complete the Big Five Personality Test
DO NOT CLICK ON ANY POP-UP ADVERTISEMENTS. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY PAYMENTS.
Once you click on the Big Five personality test link above, click on “take the free test now” highlighted in blue. Should an advertisement pop up, click the “x” in the corner of the advertisement to close.
Once the Big Five Personality test is completed, copy the URL link for your results. The URL link is located in the address bar at the very top of your results web page. The URL link should look like the following URL with identifying numbers in place of ### https://bigfive-test/results/###. If you do not copy and paste the URL link correctly into the Assignment 2 link on Brightspace, your results cannot be viewed, and you will not receive credit.
After following the directions above, click “Submit” in the Assignment 2 link on Brightspace (5 points)
Before closing your results on the web page, print as a PDF and save. You will need to reference your results to complete Assignment 3.
Late assignments will lose one (1) point for each day submitted after the due date. Check your course syllabus on Brightspace for due date.
Emailed or text messaged submissions will not be accepted or graded. You must submit the link to your results in the Assignment 2 link on Brightspace. Contact Brightspace support if you need assistance.
DUE WEEK 12
This assignment is best done after the lecture on personality and completing the assigned reading, chapter 11 sections 11.1 -11.2 & sections 11.7-11.9 in textbook.
View Example Assignment 3 for guidance. If you did not save or print a copy of your Big Five Personality test results, you can view your results by clicking on the Assignment 2 link in Brightspace. Assignment 3 must be submitted on Brightspace for grading. Emailed or text messaged submissions will not be graded or counted as on time. Check your course syllabus available on Brightspace for due date. Late submissions lose one (1) point for each day submitted after the due date.

The Big Five Personality Dimensions include:
1) Openness to Experience
2) Conscientiousness
3) Extroversion
4) Agreeableness
5) Neuroticism
1a) Choose one Big Five Personality Dimension listed above. (5 of 100)
1b) Provide your score for the personality dimension listed in Part 1a above AND state if the score is low or high (5 of 100)
1c) Provide a complete definition for the Big Five Personality Dimension you choose in part 1a and a description of your score. (10 of 100)
2a) List all of the sub-traits for the one Big Five Dimension you listed in Part 1a. Sub-traits are listed under each Big Five dimension on your personality test results from Assignment 2. Choose the sub-traits specific to the dimension you named and defined in Part 1. (10 of 100)
2b) Provide your SCORES for each of the sub-traits listed in 2a AND state if each score is high, low, or neutral. (5 of 100)
2c) Write a brief description of your RESULTS (scores) for each sub-trait listed in 2a above. For example, include a brief description of either the high or low score (not both) for each sub-trait. If you scored low, describe what a low score indicates. If you scored high, describe what a high score indicates. If you scored neutral, describe what a neutral score indicates. (15 of 100)
3. Provide a personal specific example to support (or not support) the one Big Five Dimension you named and defined in Part 1a (not the sub-traits). Your example must come from your own experience and must be specific to the dimension you named and defined in Part 1a above. Details such as a specific event, place, and time or time period, must be provided. Descriptions without details of a specific event will not receive full credit. Your example should also be specific to the ONE Big Five dimension you named and defined in Part 1a. You are not required to provide examples for each sub-trait, only provide a specific detailed example for the ONE Big Five Personality Dimension you chose in Part 1a. This example should be different from any of the examples you provided in Assignment 1. (20 of 100)
4. Read the description of yourself posted in Assignment 1. A link to Assignment 1 is available on the navigation bar in Brightspace. If Assignment 1 was not completed, you will not receive credit for Part 4 of this assignment. Answer 4a, 4b, and 4c below.
4a) State if your overall Big Five Test results support or don’t support your description of yourself that you posted in Assignment 1. (5 of 100)
b) Support your statement by listing all three words you posted in Assignment 1 AND a brief description of the examples your provided for each word listed in Assignment 1. You should paraphrase the examples from assignment 1. Examples other than those from Assignment 1 will not receive credit. (10 of 100)
4c) Compare each word and example from assignment 1 with the appropriate Big Five Dimension OR sub-trait scores from any Big Five Dimension from your results. Identify the Big Five dimension or sub-trait you are comparing for each of the three words from Assignment 1. DO NOT limit comparison to the one Dimension from Part 1 above. You must compare each word from assignment 1 with ANY Big Five dimension or ANY sub-trait from your overall results that best matches each word and description. (15 of 100)
