  • Assignments must be submitted on Brightspace. One submission and one grading per assignment. Emailed or text messaged submissions will not be accepted, graded, or considered as on time. 
  • Check your course syllabus available on Brightspace for assignment due date – late entries will lose 1 of 100 points for each day submitted after the due date. 
  • Click on the “Assignment 1” link found on the Brightspace navigation bar. Click on the “Start New Thread” link found near the bottom of the page in the Assignment 1 link and follow the directions below. A grading rubric link is available for guidance. 
  1. Include your first name and last name in the subject line of your new thread. (10 of 100) 
  2. Choose three words from this list of traits that best describes you. You may use other words/traits not included on this list. (15 of 100)
  3. Provide a dictionary definition for each word/trait (15 of 100)
  4. After each definition, provide specific examples to support why each of these words best describes you. You must provide a specific example for each to receive full credit. Examples should refer to a specific event, place, and time period. A general description without specific details will not receive full credit. View Example Assignment for clarification. You may also make an appointment with the tutoring center for support. A link to tutoring services is available on the blue navigation bar on Brightspace and on the Resources page.  (60 of 100)
  5. Click “Post” to submit. 

After submitting your post, read through a few other posts. Replying to other posts is optional.

Complete the Big Five Personality Test

DO NOT CLICK ON ANY POP-UP ADVERTISEMENTS. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY PAYMENTS.

After you click on the Big Five Personality Test link above, click on “take the free test now” highlighted in blue. If an advertisement pops up, click the “x” to close.

Once the Big Five Personality test is completed, copy and paste the URL link for your results in the Assignment 2 link on Brightspace. The URL link is located in the address bar at the very top of your results web page. The URL link should look like the following URL with numbers in place of … – https://bigfive-test/results/…  

Once you paste the URL to your results in the Assignment 2 link on Brightspace, click “Submit” 

Before closing your results on the web page, print as a PDF and save.  You will need to reference your results to complete Assignment 3.

Late assignments will lose one (1) point for each day submitted after the due date. Check the course syllabus available on Brightspace for due date.

Assignment 3 will be graded against the original results posted in Assignment 2. If you did not save your Assignment 2 results as a PDF as per the directions, it is recommended that you request a copy of the link to your original personality assessment results before completing this assignment.

Directions 

The Big Five Personality Dimensions include: 

1) Openness to Experience
2) Conscientiousness
3) Extroversion
4) Agreeableness
5) Neuroticism

PART 1

a) Choose one Big Five Personality Dimension listed above. (1 of 100) 

b) Provide your score for the personality dimension listed in Part 1a above AND state if the score is low/high/average. Scores must be from original results posted in Assignment 2. (5 of 100)

c) Provide a complete definition for the Big Five Personality Dimension you choose in part 1a and provide a description of your score.  (10 of 100)

PART 2

a) List all of the sub-traits for the one Big Five Dimension you listed in Part 1. Sub-traits are listed under each Big Five dimension on your personality test results from Assignment 2. Choose the sub-traits specific to the dimension you named in Part 1. (6 of 100) 

b) Provide your SCORES for each of the sub-traits listed in 2a. Scores must be from original results posted in Assignment 2. (3 of 100)

c) State if each of the sub-trait scores are HIGH or LOW or NEUTRAL. (3 of 100)

d) Write a brief DESCRIPTION of your RESULTS (scores) for EACH SUB-TRAIT listed in 2a above. For example, include a brief description of either the high, low, or neutral score for each sub-trait. If you scored low, describe what a low score indicates.  If you scored high, describe what a high score indicates. If your score was neutral, describe what a neutral score indicates. (18 of 100)

PART 3

Provide a relevant and specific example to support the one Big Five Dimension you named and defined in Part 1a (not the sub-traits). Your example must come from your own experience and must be specific to the dimension you named and defined in Part 1a above. Details such as a specific event, place, and time or time period, must be provided. Examples without specific details will not receive full credit. Your example should also be related to the ONE Big Five dimension you named and defined in Part 1a. You are not required to provide examples for each sub-trait; only provide a specific detailed example for the ONE Big Five Personality Dimension you chose in Part 1a. If the example provided is the same or similar to any of the examples you provided in Assignment 1, you will not receive credit. (20 of 100)

PART 4

Read the description of yourself that you posted in Assignment 1. A link to Assignment 1 is available on the navigation bar in Brightspace. If Assignment 1 was not completed, you will not receive credit for Part 4 of this assignment. Answer a, b, c, and d below.

a) State if your overall Big Five Test results support or don’t support the description of yourself that you posted in Assignment 1. (1 of 100)

b) Support your statement by listing all three words you posted in Assignment 1 (3 of 100)

c) Provide a brief description of the examples your provided for each word listed in Assignment 1. You should paraphrase the examples from assignment 1. Examples other than those from Assignment 1 will not receive credit. (9 of 100)

d) Compare each word and example from assignment 1 with the appropriate Big Five Dimension AND/OR sub-trait scores from any Big Five Dimension or sub-traits from your results. Identify the scores and the Big Five dimension and/or sub-traits you are comparing for each of the three words from Assignment 1. DO NOT limit comparison to the dimension and sub-traits from Part 1 above. You must compare each word from assignment 1 with ANY Big Five dimension or ANY sub-trait from your overall results that best matches each word and description. (21 of 100)
